It’s likely strongly related to the plot of Alan Wake, so players should probably review the first game in order to be more familiar with the second one.
The developers describe Alan Wake 2 as, “A layered mystery.” These mysteries are likely a deep dive into the original Alan Wake, and deeply intertwined with it. If the graphics in this trailer are unpolished, then we have a lot of good things to look forward to in Alan Wake 2. They didn’t want to waste time on that when it could go into the main game. They actually decided to postpone a trailer and demo because it takes too much time to make a polished one.
